In short, TBI

employees are nice,

intelligent people who

get things done.

TBI employees are often asked to brainstorm about how they can better assist the debtors with whom they work.

The best organizations in the world have the highest standards of entry and of performance.

So, what makes TBI people different than representatives at other collection companies? Like the best organizations in the world, it starts with our hiring, and continues with our training (something we call TBI Academy), and our standards of behavior and performance:

1) All new employees must pass background checks and drug tests.

2) TBI employees are given extensive training on our systems and proprietary tools. They must show that they have excellent listening, analytical, and communication skills. They must be bright and open-minded.

3) Teamwork is essential. A critical part of our reward system is team-based and because employees rely on each other, employees must show they are reliable.

4) TBI people despise bureaucracy. They don’t want our customers calling in only to receive a run-around.

5) We evaluate all employees to ensure that they conduct themselves in a respectful, down-to-earth manner, whether they are dealing with customers, other collectors, clerical staff, managers, or our janitorial staff. Confidence is developed, arrogance is eliminated. TBI employees are encouraged to be direct and yet they are friendly and courteous to debtors and coworkers.

6) Our employees embrace technology and change. They have a focus on improving their performance, and utilizing to the fullest, the technology available to them. Our best employees are passionate about learning and being the absolute best at what they do.

7) TBI employees crave feedback. Collection representatives’ calls are often monitored and extensive coaching is conducted by managers (managers typically have at least 10 years of experience).

8) TBI employees are win/win people. They are driven by finding solutions that benefit themselves and their families, but also benefit customers, coworkers, etc.

9) TBI people THRIVE ON ACHIEVEMENT.

Because TBI has some of the lowest voluntary turnover rates in the industry, our collection representatives typically have several years of experience (not just industry experience, but TBI experience). We typically have numerous applications for each of our openings—this allows us to get the best.

In short, TBI employees are nice, intelligent people, who get things done.
