Last week, DBA International elected Patricia (Trish) Baxter as president during the association’s 19th Annual Conference and Mark Naiman was named President Elect. Baxter began her term at the conclusion of a very successful conference attended by more than 1,000 people who displayed a cautiously optimistic view of the future and embraced the role certification has played in raising the standard in the industry.

Currently serving as Compliance Officer for Recovery Management Systems Corporation, a bankruptcy debt purchaser and servicer, Baxter provides regulatory and operational compliance management services for each of RMSC’s business units. Her prior industry roles include serving as General Counsel for Collins Financial Services in Austin, Texas and as General Counsel for Unifund in Cincinnati, Ohio.

“I am most encouraged by the support and involvement of our state and federal regulators with our association activities, a true demonstration of our conference theme, ‘Moving Forward Together.’ I look forward this year to working with my fellow board members, our association staff, and our professional consultants as we grow our membership, expand market opportunities for members, and continue our active advocacy at all levels,” Baxter noted. “I also welcome our new certification council members, which include representatives from debt buying companies, collections agencies, collections firms, credit issuers, and consumer advocates, as each of them has an important role in guiding our industry-leading certification program, now entering its fourth year.”

According to Executive Director Jan Stieger, in addition to her vast industry expertise, Baxter has provided valuable service to the industry serving on the board of directors since 2013 and participating on a variety of committees. “Most recently, Baxter has served as Chair of the Ethics Committee, Co-Chair of the Conference Committee, Chair of the recently formed Business Development Task Force and served as a committee member for Bylaws, Policies and Procedures Committee, and State Legislative Committee,” said Steiger. “Trish was also instrumental in assisting her company in achieving their Certified Professional Receivables Company (CPRC) designation and has been an advocate of the programs rigorous standards and focus on compliance integration.”

Newly Elected DBA International Directors

DBA International also elected new Board Directors: incumbent David Paris, Director of Business Development for Jefferson Capital; James Mastriani, President of Velocity Portfolio Group, Inc.; and Adam Parks, Chief Compliance Officer for Lismore Holdings, Inc. “The DBA membership and Board of Directors are happy to welcome two new members to the Board and look forward to their insight and leadership,” Stieger commented. “We are equally glad to welcome back incumbent David Paris as we work together to better the industry.”
